Round trip Outer Hardanger: Rosendal

From Kvam travel south along the fjord through idyllic Oma and to Gjermundshamn where you can take the ferry to Årsnes. Continue to Rosendal where you should visit the magnificant Baroniet, a manor from 1665 with it`s beatiful and famous garden. You can also visit the National Parc Centre or the rock garden with typical goegraphical formations. On your way back to Kvam you can choose to drive back through the Folgefonna tunnel toward Odda. Finally take the ferry from Utne to Kvanndal. 

 
Round trip Inner Hardanger: Ulvik - Eidfjord

Travel to Granvin on the national tourist route 7. In Granvin you will find a heritage museum which has openinghours in July. From Granvin to Ulvik choose the old road Fv 572, a nice alternative to the tunnel on Rv 13. Ulvik is famous for fruitfarming and here you can visit several farms producing fruit, juice and cidre like the Lekve farm. You can also drive up the beatiful Osa mountain, 1250 m over sea level. Traveling to Eidfjord you have to take the ferry from Bruravik to Brimnes. In Eidfjord and Øvre Eidfjord you should visit the Sima Kraftverk and the Hardangervidda Natursenter Eidfjord. Next stop should be the impressive waterfall Vøringsfossen. The plateau Hardangervidda is a fantastic area for shorter or longer hiks. Turning back you can travel via Kinsarvik-Kvanndal to make it a round trip.

 
Round trip Inner Hardanger: Odda - Tyssedal

Start the round trip by taking the ferry from Kvanndal to Utne and take the Fv 550 down to Odda. On your way you can visit Agatunet, an historical town. You will also pass one of the oldest fruit farms in Hardanger, Bleietunet and the summeropen farm shop Måge Gardsbutikk. Next stop after Odda should be Tyssedal where you will find the Norsk Vasskraft- og Industristadmuseum, an industy museum. From Skjeggedal, nearby Tyssedal, there is a path to the spectacular Trolltunga (troll`s tung - a long walk of about 20 km). From Tyssedal travel on throughout fruit town Lofthus to Kinsarvik. Traveling with children you can visit the family park Mikkelparken. Finally cross the fjord by taking the ferry from Kinsarvik to Kvanndal.

 

 Om du tør kan du ta trallebana og gå heilt inn til den spektakulære Trolltunga (lang fottur). Reis vidare opp gjennom fruktbygda Lofthus til Kinsarvik med den populære familiparken Mikkelparken. Ta til slutt ferja over fjorden til Kvanndal (ev. frå Bruravik til Brimnes) og heim til Kvam att.

 
Round trip Hardanger: Jondal - Utne

From Tørvikbygd, 11 km from Norheimsund you can take the ferry to Jondal. Here you can drive up to the Folgefonna glacier, 20 km from the centre. Thereafter you can take the route Fv 550 towards Utne. You will pass the area Hereiane which is fantastic for shorter or longer hiks and the idyllic place called Herand. In Herand you will find a cultural historical exhibition, marked trails and a nice restaurant. Going to Utne you can visit the Hardanger Folkemuseum which is a rural museum from 1911 with an open air museum. The ferry from Utne takes you to Kvanndal from where you get back to Kvam. This round trip is also nice for cycling (1 -2 days).
